What's new » gig is 10 years old! Will you celebrate with us?

Launching ‘Gobaith i Gymru/Hope for Wales’ in 1999 was a step of faith, but for Arfon it was a response to a call. And we can testify that God has been faithful! We’re continually amazed by God’s goodness and his people’s generosity. Much has been achieved, but there is still a great work ahead. gig’s primary project, of course, has been beibl.net.

Arfon started working on the idea of translating the New Testament into simple, colloquial Welsh around 1995 – fifteen years ago! But it was launching the gig Trust 10 years ago that gave him the space to really get to grips with the project, and launch the beibl.net website in 2002. The website has attracted a new generation of teenagers and young adults, and is being used regularly by teachers, schools, churches, individuals and Sunday schools.

Over recent years, Arfon, with the help of Angharad Roberts, and several readers, has been working on an easy to read, colloquial translation of the Old Testament scirptures. And here’s the good news! – We estimate that the translation work could be completed in another three years!

We are looking for 100 churches that will stand in partnership with us, to see the beibl.net translation completed. Would your church consider giving a monthly contribution towards this ministry for the next three years? That could be done using the enclosed standing order mandate available on this website here.

By supporting beibl.net you would be investing in Kindom work, to share the gospel with the expanding generation of young people that speak Welsh, and are educated in Welsh.

Of course, individuals can also partner with us! Even if you’re not able to contribute financially, would you be willing to commit yourself to praying regularly for the beibl.net project over the next three years? We will be sending a prayer update three times a year, to tell you how the work is progressing.

Yours in Christ
